How do I register?
To register to vote online, go to https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/beginRegistration.do.
The deadline to register is 29 days before Election Day.
To register via mail, print and mail this form: https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/beginRegistration.do. You should mail the form to your local county board of registrars’ office, which you can find at: http://elections.sos.ga.gov/Elections/countyregistrars.do.
You can also get the form at a DMV, public library, public assistance office, recruitment office, schools, or other government offices.
Your form must be postmarked 29 days before Election Day.
To register in person, pick up registration forms at any state or government office.
If you legally change your name, you can update it online. If you move to a new address, you must notify your county registrar (or your new one, if you moved out of the county) by writing to them or submitting a new voter registration application.
The deadline to update your address is 30 days before Election Day. If you moved within your county before the deadline, you can still vote at your previous address if you fail to update your address by the deadline. If you moved out of the county before the deadline, your registration at your old address is automatically canceled and you must immediately re-register in your new county. If you moved out of the county after the deadline, you can still vote at your previous address.
Can I pre-register?
You can pre-register if you are 17.5 years old and will be 18 on or by Election Day.
